- Do I need planning permission?
- For most through-wall monobloc installs on a normal freehold house, no.
Listed buildings and conservation areas need consent - we'll flag it in the quote and can help with the paperwork.
- Will the freeholder allow it?
- Almost always - because there's no outdoor unit. We give you a Freeholder Pack to forward: a two-page technical summary and a template consent letter.
- How loud is it really?
- The Quiet Bedroom sits at 30 dB(A) on night mode - almost certainly quieter than the room you're in now. The living-room unit at low speed is around 34 dB(A) - below normal conversation.
- Do I need an electrician?
- The unit runs from a standard 13 A socket. If there isn't one within 2 m of the install spot, we add a dedicated switched socket for £200 - tested and certificated by a professional electrician.
- How long does it take?
- One working day on site. Two neat 160 mm cores through the wall, unit mounted, sealed, tested, commissioned.
- What refrigerant is used?
- Our Quiet Bedroom uses R290 - a natural refrigerant with a tiny fraction of the global-warming impact of older gases. The larger units use factory-sealed circuits, so there's no F-gas engineer visit and no annual paperwork.
- What's the warranty?
- Three years on the unit, one year on the installation. We're local so if you have any problems we're a phone-call away.
- Do you install outside Surrey?
- Yes although a call-out fee of £100 applies outside of our traditional coverage area.
